We’re proud to share that our Head Chef, Josh Phillips, has been named the Clyth MacLeod Rising Talent of 2025 at the Cuisine Good Food Awards. It’s an incredible achievement and one that truly reflects the passion, skill, and dedication Josh brings to Aosta every day.
Josh’s cooking is thoughtful and precise, but always full of flavour and warmth. He draws inspiration from the Northern Italian traditions at the heart of Aosta while championing the outstanding produce of Central Otago. His food balances refinement with comfort, and you can feel his care in every detail—from a carefully crafted ferment to a dish that tells a story of both place and heritage.



Since stepping into the role of Head Chef, Josh has led our kitchen with generosity and calm, encouraging the team while pushing us to keep raising the bar. This award recognises not only his creativity, but also his integrity and the way he connects people through food.
We couldn’t be prouder to see Josh’s talent recognised on a national stage, and we know this is just the beginning of what he will achieve. For now, we’re grateful to have him here in Arrowtown, bringing his vision and energy to Aosta, and sharing it with every guest who walks through our doors.
