We are absolutely thrilled to share that Aosta has been awarded the Yellow Brick Road Regional Restaurant of the Year 2025 at the Cuisine Good Food Awards, with an incredible score of 18/20. This recognition means so much to us, not just as a restaurant, but as a family of chefs, servers, bartenders, and producers who pour our hearts into every dish, every pour, and every guest experience.

When we opened Aosta, our vision was to bring a little piece of Italy’s Aosta Valley to Arrowtown, blending Northern Italian cooking traditions with the world-class produce of Central Otago. Under the guidance of Chef Ben Bayly and the day-to-day creativity of our Head Chef Josh Phillips, we’ve worked to craft a menu that feels refined yet approachable, simple yet full of flavour.

Cuisine’s judges praised the warmth of our dining room, the precision of our dishes, and our ability to create a true sense of place. One highlight was our tomato tagliatelle with mackerel ragù, a dish that perfectly captures what we strive for: food that is fresh, comforting, and deeply rooted in heritage.

We’re also proud of our wine list and cocktail bar, which allow us to showcase not just the best of Italy, but also the incredible wines and spirits of New Zealand. Together, they complete the experience we want every guest to enjoy.

A Thank You to Our Community

This award isn’t just about us, it’s about the farmers, growers, winemakers, and suppliers who make what we do possible, and the loyal guests who keep returning to our tables. Without your support, belief, and appetite for something special, Aosta would not be what it is today.

Winning Regional Restaurant of the Year 2025 is a milestone we will cherish, but it also inspires us to keep raising the bar, keep exploring flavour, and keep sharing the alpine story that connects Italy and Central Otago.

From all of us at Aosta thank you for being part of this journey. We can’t wait to welcome you back soon.
